For most fencing services, expect pricing to depend on the material, height, and total linear footage, with custom builds often landing in the low thousands and larger projects running much higher. GTA Grizzly gives free estimates, and our locked-price proposal means the price you approve is the price you pay. If your yard has slopes, gates, or tight access, those details are usually what move the number up or down.
A typical 6-foot markham fence is usually priced by the linear foot, not by the panel, and the material choice matters most. Composite fence installation is owner-verified at $120 to $200+ per linear foot, and wood is often lower than that while still varying by grade and layout. The next question is usually whether wood, composite, or another material gives the best value for your yard, and we can walk you through that in a free consultation.
A basic wood fence is usually one of the lower-cost options, especially for simple runs with straightforward access. A wood fence markham project can still change in price if the yard needs grading, old fence removal, or custom gates. If you want the lowest upfront number, ask for a locked-price proposal so you can compare materials without surprise add-ons.
Not automatically. In Ontario, who pays for a shared fence depends on ownership, local by-laws, and what you and your neighbour agree to, so it’s worth confirming the property line before anyone starts work. If there’s any uncertainty, we can help you plan the build and handle the permit paperwork for the project we take on.
For 200 feet of fence, the total can range widely because material and site conditions matter more than the length alone. A chain link fence markham job will usually price very differently from cedar or composite, and gates, corners, and removal of an old fence can add cost. The best next step is a free estimate, because GTA Grizzly’s locked-price proposal shows the full number before work begins.
Spring through fall is usually the easiest time to install fencing because the ground is more workable and weather delays are less common. In many Markham yards, the ideal timing is before you start heavy landscaping or sod work so the whole property finishes cleanly. If you’re planning a bigger outdoor project, we can sequence the fence with the rest of the build so you’re not redoing work twice.
Sometimes, yes, depending on fence height, location, and whether the project touches a pool, setback, or other regulated area. For projects we handle, GTA Grizzly takes care of the permit paperwork, so you don’t have to chase forms and approvals alone. A quick site visit is the fastest way to confirm what applies to your property.
A simple steel fence markham project is usually not the cheapest option, while plain wood or basic chain link often comes in lower. The real budget drivers are height, finish, access, and whether the old fence has to come out first. If cost is the main concern, ask for a free consultation and we’ll price the options side by side before you commit.
The cost to put up a fence in Ontario usually comes down to material, length, labour, and site prep, so there isn’t one fair single number. For a fast, accurate budget, GTA Grizzly offers a free estimate and a detailed proposal within 24 hours for projects under $30K. That way you can see the full scope before any work starts, not after.
For 200 feet of fencing, the total depends on whether you choose wood, composite, or a lighter-duty option and whether the site needs leveling. A simple fence installation markham project can stay relatively straightforward, but slopes, corners, and gates can change the price quickly. We’ll measure the site, explain the trade-offs, and give you a locked-price proposal so you know exactly where the budget lands.
If you need a lower-cost boundary, simple landscaping elements like shrubs, gravel edging, or a partial screening layout can work until a full build makes sense. They won’t give the same privacy as a fence, but they can define space without the same upfront spend. If you want a cleaner long-term plan, we can price phased options during a free consultation.
Not by default. Responsibility usually depends on where the fence sits, who owns the property line, and any local agreement or by-law that applies. If you’re unsure, a fence repair markham review can help separate what’s yours, what’s shared, and what should be discussed before repairs begin.
